Win the Day Campaign
The leader of the Mens Ministry at Mariners Church was looking for a way to help bring his community together over the course of a year. His idea was to center around the concept of taking small, positive steps forward, every single day using two verses: Psalm 118:24: This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Deuteronomy 20:4 For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.
The Goals:
- Create a campaign that moves men towards God through daily action.
- Understand the core target audience both internally and externally.
- Create work that indicates strong community bonds.

We started with research and a few workships with the ministry leader to understand the core audience, what their desires were, and how this ministry solved those. Being located in Southern California, this group of guys is built differently. The core target is a rugged bunch that conducts recurring yearly events built around guns, bbq, and outdoor sports like kayaking, deep sea fishing, and camping on a mountain in the back of a truck. There is a large yearly event known as Man Camp that is part deep teaching, part worship, and part youth group team games. These guys love activities and fun together.
Given the nature of their events and the desire to foster group accountability, it made sense to lean into imagery that communicated team. We landed on a rallying cry: Win the Day and developed a badge-based concept with a local designer that included a pennant to help communicate team and belonging.
